Seeking new site to add capacity. Screened more than 100 communities in several states in Midwest and Southeast for industry presence, labor skills availability and cost. Visited and evaluated several finalists for these factors and site availability, local access, utilities and other factors.

Seeking a site in the western United States for a payments processing operation. Mail services, labor availability and cost were key issues. Evaluated a list of company selected cities. Negotiated incentives. Located in Las Vegas.

Relocating existing East Coast distribution center for additional space and efficiency. Reviewed operating conditions and costs in several states. Met with employers and state and local officials in two finalist communities in two states to evaluate labor availability, incentive potential, operating costs, possible highway improvement and other factors. Located new facility in small community in South Carolina.

Potential headquarters relocation; identified issues and built consensus on advantages and disadvantages. Cost reduction and synergies from co-location of similar operations.  Location strategy and options for dispersed national operation. Potential headquarters relocation issue identification and cost estimates. Identified benefits of co-locating engineering R&D and manufacturing engineering; improved communication, faster and more effective product development. Relocated engineering department to Texas.

Seeking a second call center site to expand capacity and diversify risk for this Internet service provider.  Community screening and detailed fieldwork.  Opened second facility in Dallas.

Mutual Fund
Expansion

Sought a second site for additional capacity for a mutual fund call center.  Ability to recruit college level staff for rapid start-up the key.  Screened communities and conducted fieldwork in finalists with company president.  New facility in Tucson.

Pharmaceutical Maker

Relocating to increase facility size and for expansion space. Reviewed sites for access, noxious neighbors, utility service and cost. Developed financial model to compare real estate, utility, property tax and other operating costs. Recommended new site. Project halted due to uncertain market conditions.
